"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects."

Some missionaries who are doctors in Uganda put this on their blog! It says it all.

Camp LIFE...
..is this weekend!!!!!!
This will be my 4th Camp LIFE to be a part of, and 3rd to be a counselor for. Camp LIFE is for kids with many kinds of disabilities. There are kids with MR, Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and so-on. Basically kids that are AMAZING! The ratio of camper to counselor in 1 to 1. So I will be assigned a camper for the weekend! I will make sure that he is eating, showering, dressing, and so forth. Last semester I had a camper that was autistic and his name was Rico! He was so much fun and about 6 feet tall! We had a blast canoeing, climbing rock walls, archery, arts and crafts, and much more.
This post is kind of short, but I tried to sum it up in a few words. If I typed all the words going through my head about this amazing weekend, this post would be a chapter book!
I'll post pictures and stories after the weekend!

My Support Letter
Dear Friends,
I hope this letter finds you and your family doing well. I started my job as a caseworker at South Texas Children’s Home Ministries about 6 and a half months ago, and it is going very well. I moved to South Texas at the beginning of September and love it down here very much. Thank you for your prayers and support through my transition.
Through much prayer and consideration, I feel that the Lord is leading me back to Uganda, with Salvation Safari, to help build another church and minister to the people. The trip we took in 2006 was very successful, and we are trusting that the Lord will shine through on this trip as well. In 2006, over 800 people learned about Jesus and the sacrifice He has made for them. The problem we discovered was many women stayed at home while the men worked and they didn’t feel comfortable talking to an American man. This trip we have decided to take women and are excited about how the Lord will work through them.
I would like you to be a part of this life-changing event that will impact many lives through sharing the love of Christ. First, you can pray for my team and me in these areas: Jesus would shine through us and souls would be won for the Kingdom. You can also be involved by assisting me financially. I am responsible for raising $3,000 dollars to help cover expenses of the trip. Would you consider supporting me as I follow God in Uganda this summer? Any amount that you will feel led to give will be appreciated; however, please do not feel obligated. I have included a stamped self-addressed envelope for your convenience. Please make the check payable to “Salvation Safari” and put in the Memo part “Jake Kelley Uganda ’09”.
I appreciate your prayers and assistance with this trip. I will send out a final update of my experience in Africa when I return this summer.
In His Grip,
Jake Kelley

In Africa...We love the Lord

I am going to Uganda this summer again! Oh man I am so excited.
Salvation Safari is taking another team, but this time we are taking girls. The biggest problem we ran into last time we were in Uganda, was that the men would leave for the day of work and the women would stay home and cook and clean. Well when we went to evangelize only the woman would be home. In their culture is was disrespectful to talk to another man's wife. So we are taking women on our trip to minister to the many women who were uncomfortable talking to us.
We will be funding another church to be built, visiting the one we helped build in 2006, playing with kids, and sharing the name of Jesus.
I am so stinkin excited and Jeremy called me not long ago and said that we had bought the plane tickets!!
Prayer Requests:
1. Our team unity.
2. The Spirit to go ahead of us and prepare their hearts to hear the good news.
3. Financial Support. We are responsible for raising close to $3,000.
For all my reader! Have a good day!

Merry Christmas
I know I am a little late, but whatever! I really don't think that anyone reads this anyway.
My Christmas was awesome. I went to Dallas, I saw family, and friends, and got great gifts. And though I am thankful that God sent his son to us throughout the year, its even more exciting when there is a specific time to celebrate. Thank you Jesus, youre the best!
This is my whole family on my moms side!
We do the same picture EVERY YEAR, it has been a tradition since I was maybe 6 or seven. Ill try to find some old ones!
